Congratulations to all our members for their excellent weight losses during January.
However, if you are still looking for motivation to get back to class after the Christmas Break then come along to the Masonic Hall on Thursday evening 10th February from 5.30pm
Several of our success stories will be visiting the session telling us all their ideas, favourite recipes on the Lifestyle Plan etc I know you will find them inspiring as Julie lost the eight and half pounds which crept on over the holidays in only 3 weeks, Jan will be telling you how much better she is feeling after losing three stone while running a successful cafe and making the cakes…… Lisa who has lost 6 stone will be bringing her before photographs and I can promise you will not think it is the same person. So if you want to get back into your weight loss plan this is the evening you will find the motivation to do it.
We will also have a buffet with lots of healthy options to sample. Please try and make this special evening and there will also be a promotion with FREE joining on that evening for family and friends.

Slimtone had a great Christmas Party
Slimtone had a great Christmas Party at the Masonic Hall Maesteg recently. Everyone had a good time and the meal prepared by Jane and her team was tremendous.
Marie Griffiths has asked that I thank everyone who attended for the creating such a wonderful atmosphere. David who provided the Disco was also impressed by all the members who danced the night away. Marie also mentioned that she wished to thank everyone for participating in the raffle and that all proceeds were donated to Cheryl Barber for The Craig Barber Memorial Fund which she has already raised over £25,000.
For everyone who was not able to attend have a wonderful Christmas and see you all in the New Year. Our first class in Maesteg will be on Tuesday 4th January 10.00am and Thursday 6th January at 5.30pm both are at The Masonic Hall and old and new members are welcome.

Welsh Factor Final Maesteg
The Welsh Factor Final Takes place in Dylans Maesteg on Monday the 11th October
The Welsh Factor has proven to be a fantastic competition giving up and coming artists great experience performing live to a full audience and top quality judges from the music and entertainment industry. The finalists for Maesteg on Monday 11th Oct, are Alexandra Phillips, Sean Watts, Jade Baker, Jessica McNeil, Claire Lousie, Contagious, Stevie J, Jade Croot, Stacey Brown, Nicky Price, Alex Jacobs, Sundancers of RA, Victoria, Kris Windsor, Alex John, Molly Bu…rgess, Ryan Davies, Cutetagious, Leah Peachey, Elinor Burglass, Clifton Smith, Chris Barlow, well done to all the acts to get this far, the exciting part is the Winner of Maesteg is in the list above!!

The Maesteg Gleemen Visit to Essen
The Maesteg Gleemen Visit to Essen, The European City Of Culture
To the European city of culture Essen. A concert with the Schubertbund Essen was held in St Michael R.C Church to a capacity audience.
The choir had been treated to a civic reception in Essen town hall. The Mayor of Maesteg Phil John Responded with plaques and gifts were exchanged. After meeting the cast of Mamma Mia in the hotel “after glow” the whole party was invited to the show in the Dussledore dome where they were photographed with the principles and cast.
Then all went back to the hotel for a farewell “after glow” together including new friends of the choir Gunter and Eneth Klasen who were treated to a rendition of when you come home again to Wales, which I am sure the will in the future.

Maesteg Childrens Choir
Maesteg Childrens Choir
The Choir currently has a limited number of places for NEW MEMBERS,Boys or Girls between the ages of 8 to 16. The choir has been going for 25 years, help us go another 25 years by joining this amazing group of Kids. Practice is on Saturday Mornings at Plasnewydd School (Back entrance) at 10am. The Kids have fun and learn alot too!!! You can contact Enid Sian Hughes the leader on 01656 732385 or you can just come along to practice!!

Slimtone Christmas Count Down
Slimtone starts there Christmas count down join them this week to get into shape for Christmas.
Do you need incentive to look and feel good for Christmas? With only 14 weeks to go just a pound a week will you a stone lighter for the festive season.

The members in the Maesteg class which is held on Tuesday at 10.00 – 11.30am and Thursday from 5.30 – 7.00pm at the Masonic Hall are all looking forward to their new weekly planner with lots of tasty recipes and ideas to get back to basics after the school holidays.

Maesteg Slimtone Members Complete Race For Life
Congratulations to Maureen Walton one of our members at our class in the Masonic Hall, Maesteg who is pictured with Elizabeth, Megan and Alison who all recently did the Race for Life in Cardiff
They collected a total of over £1,000.00 (one thousand pounds) between them for Cancer Research UK which is a tremendous achievment.
Well done to you all from Marie and all your friends at Slimtone.
